1. Data Controller

Royale Progress is an independent, fan-made web application offering collection analysis, match history, and meta deck discovery for Clash Royale players. The service is provided entirely free of charge — no registration, subscription, or payment is required. Data processed on this site is controlled by the application owner.

For all privacy-related requests and questions: [email protected]

2. Information We Collect

Royale Progress does not collect passwords, emails, phone numbers, or identity information. The data types we use are:

  • Player tag: The Clash Royale player tag you ask us to display. It is a publicly accessible identifier on Supercell's official API and does not constitute personal data.
  • In-game data: Public game data such as trophies, card levels, match history, clan information. Pulled only from the Clash Royale API and cached short-term for display purposes.
  • Technical information: IP address (kept briefly in memory for rate limiting and abuse prevention), browser language, device type, and standard HTTP headers.
  • Local storage: Items such as your last searched tag, language preference, and cookie consent record stay only in your browser and are never transmitted to our server.

3. Purpose of Use and Legal Basis

We process information for the following purposes:

  • Displaying the player/clan/match data you request (performance of a service and legitimate interest).
  • Protecting the service against abuse, scraping, and automated traffic (legitimate interest).
  • Ensuring basic system security, performance, and debugging (legitimate interest).
  • Personalizing ads in the future, based on your explicit consent (explicit consent).

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), our legal bases are Article 6(1)(a) explicit consent, Article 6(1)(b) performance of a service, and Article 6(1)(f) legitimate interests.

4. Third Parties and Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the following services:

  • Supercell / Clash Royale API: Used to fetch game data. The API key is kept only on our server and is never sent to your browser. Supercell Privacy Policy
  • Hosting provider (VPS): Server traffic and connection logs may be retained briefly as part of the provider's standard security records.
  • Google AdSense: Detailed in the "Google AdSense and Advertising" section below. Advertising cookies are loaded only with your consent.

  • Personalized ads are optional. By selecting "Necessary Only" in our cookie notice, you will only see non-personalized ads.

Turning off personalization: If you reject advertising cookies in our cookie notice, any ads shown will be contextual (based on page content) and not based on your browsing history.

7. Data Retention

  • Server cache: 60–120 seconds, automatically cleared afterwards.
  • Player profile records: Stored for the search index and snapshot history; removed when no longer needed under our retention rules.
  • Rate-limit records: Kept in memory no longer than one hour per IP.
  • Local storage: Stays in your browser until you delete it.
